Introduction Letter to Members of Congress

The National Association of Industrial Bankers welcomes the 119th Congress and looks forward to working with members toward our shared goal of a strong and safe banking sector.

The National Association of Industrial Bankers represents industrial banks or industrial loan companies, which have played an integral role in providing innovative financial services and expanding access to credit for Americans. First chartered in 1910, industrial banks are FDIC-regulated depository institutions chartered under state law, and were created with the purpose of providing financial services to low- and moderate-income Americans who had steady jobs but lacked access to traditional banking. Since their creation over a century ago, industrial banks have expanded access to affordable and reliable credit to specific audiences served through an affiliate or parent company relationship.
